My name is Vincent Castillo, and I am 26 years old who recently started school again. I was a junior in high school when
I decided that I didn’t want to attend my classes anymore so I dropped out of school. A few years later I went back to get
my GED because I knew that without an education you are limited to what you can do with your life. For the last four
years I lived in San Antonio where I was working at a convenient store as an assistant manager and decided I was tired of
this life. I moved back to Corpus Christi for a new start. When I came back I applied at Christus Spohn Hospital among many
other places. To my surprise, they called me for an interview from the hospital which was a relief because from what I hear
it’s not easy to get into the hospital. I did get hired as a transportation aid in the Radiology Department. I find this
job to be very interesting because it has allowed me to set a goal for myself to earn a degree in Radiology. I am fascinated
with all the new technology this field offers. This brings me to where I am today. I have to take all my basics, which
will take be about a year or so. Then I will be able to apply for the Radiology Program. I know it is not going to be easy,
but when it is all over I will be very proud of myself for my accomplishments. Well I hope I can learn as much as possible
in the class and I am looking forward to this semester.
